Editorial policy

Purpose

Content is written to help a visitor complete a distinct calculation or planning task. Pages should not be created solely to target a keyword or to present a thin variation of an existing calculator.

Publication standard

A published calculator must serve a distinct task and contain more than an interactive form. Required material includes input guidance, a stated method, a worked calculation, result interpretation, common mistakes, a decision checklist, limitations, FAQs, sources, a review scope, and a review date. Category guides must add original workflow and decision guidance rather than repeat calculator-card descriptions.

Formula and source documentation

Published formulas use standard geometry, unit conversions, product-coverage inputs, lawn and garden application rates, fixed-rate amortization, compound-growth mathematics, insurance coverage-gap arithmetic, or directly responsible reference material. Sources are selected for relevance and authority, with preference for government and extension guidance, insurance regulators, standards bodies, academic material, manufacturers, and official product documentation. Product-specific defaults and time-sensitive prices, rates, fees, premiums, policy terms, labels, laws, and requirements must be replaceable inputs or externally verified facts, not timeless claims.

Transparency

Assumptions, units, rounding, exclusions, and limitations must be visible. Marketing language cannot imply that an estimate is a contractor bid, permit approval, coating specification, structural design, product warranty, loan or insurance offer, coverage recommendation, legal-compliance determination, individualized professional advice, or guaranteed outcome. Publisher, author, and reviewer labels must not imply an identity or credentials that have not been documented.

Authorship

Cindy Zhang and Heather Kincaid are named as co-authors of the current focused public content. Their author pages intentionally contain no unverified biography, credentials, licenses, trade, finance, insurance, actuarial, underwriting, or claims experience, years of experience, or professional-review claim. Authorship and professional review are separate: no licensed or independent professional review is claimed for this release.

Software and drafting assistance

Software tools may assist with calculations, consistency checks, test generation, formatting, or early drafts. Assistance does not replace the publication gate: page-specific arithmetic, sources, instructions, limitations, links, and visible output must still be checked. Repetitive text that does not help complete the task is not a substitute for original guidance.

Content records and updates

Content dates change after a substantive formula, source, example, assumption, or limitation update—not merely to signal freshness. Material errors are corrected in the content and relevant automated checks. Pages with unresolved quality or evidence gaps are held out of the public build and sitemap.

Corrections

Send suspected errors to support@calculatornow.io with the URL, inputs, observed result, expected result, and supporting source or arithmetic when possible. Corrections affecting a result are checked before the page’s content date changes.

Commercial independence

Advertising and future commercial relationships do not change formulas, examples, tool rankings, or editorial conclusions. Advertisements must be labeled and separated from calculator controls and results. The site does not ask visitors to click an ad.
