How to use this wallpaper calculator
Estimate wallpaper rolls and strips while accounting for pattern repeat, openings, waste, adhesive, and labor.
Formula
Required strips are based on net wall width ÷ roll width. Strip length is rounded up to the next pattern repeat. Rolls = required strips ÷ strips obtainable from one roll, plus waste, rounded up.Worked example
Example: With 8 ft walls and a 20.5 in repeat, each strip is cut longer than 8 ft to align the pattern. That reduces the number of full strips available from a 33 ft roll.
Accuracy and limitations
Wallpaper brands use different roll conventions. Confirm whether the listed package is a single, double, or metric roll and verify the printed coverage.
